The Late Lily Broughton

The late Lily Broughton was a quiet but friendly person who got on well with everyone.

Lily came to faith as an adult. She was confirmed here in the late 90s. She settled into worship life here and made friends among the congregation.

She was a founding member of the Gospel Choir. Her passion for singing helped sustain many choral Events here at Hily Trinity and cross the road at the URC.

For many years she ran the Christian Aid collection, and also helped counting up the plate offerings after Services.

Along with a reliable group of women, she ensured that visitors and worshippers alike, were treated to warm cups of tea and coffee after church gatherings.

She had for some years worked at the local Further Education College (CONEL) she was well known to everyone in the neighbourhood. Her calm and friendly presence will be sorely missed.

Her funeral takes place on Thursday 15th April at a Crematorium just outside of Clacton-on-Sea.
