A Message on Climate Change from Sarah, our Bishop in London.

Please follow this link to an important message from Sarah, our Bishop in London.

Kindly follow it to read through her directions to churches to respond to the challenges of Climate Change that we face.

Her directions are timed to coincide with the ongoing protests, styled as ‘extinction rebellion’ by activists, in Whitehall and other parts of the world.

Her message closes with a plea for us to also forge our own personal (individual and perhaps family) response to the pressing challenges of Climate Change.

Here’s a prayer, (written by the Bishop of Oxford), for us to use:

Creator of our common home,
You fill the earth and sea and sky with life
Forgive us our neglect of your creation
The choking waste of our pollution
The damage done by careless habits
And our indifference to future generations.
Help us to amend our lives
To refuse more plastic if we can’t reuse it
To lift our voice for lasting change
And to live well and gently on the earth
To the glory of your Son, the Living Word
Through whom you made this fragile world.
Amen.
